Meet the people who Do Food Good: Mathias Leulliette
Interview with Mathias Leulliette, HSE Technician TriNature / Crop’s Blaringhem

On the Health & Safety side, Mathias is dedicated to strengthening the safety culture on site. “A big part of my job is engaging in dialogue with colleagues,” he explains. “Building a culture from the ground up takes time. In the beginning, I was often seen as ‘the policeman’, but today we’ve evolved towards real synergy and mutual trust.”
That shift is clearly visible in day-to-day operations. Colleagues now proactively seek his advice before taking action, which he finds particularly rewarding. “The stronger our safety culture becomes, the better and safer we can produce. That also leads to more efficient processes and faster response times for our customers.”
Every day at 9.30 am, Mathias leads the site meeting on Safety topics, ensuring alignment and continuous improvement. What he enjoys most about his role is the opportunity to build and shape systems in a relatively new factory. “My entrepreneurial mindset can really thrive here,” he says. “That’s why I connect strongly with Crop’s intrapreneurship value.”
The second major pillar of his job is Environment. Mathias is responsible for the water treatment station, which filters and recycles water. “It’s a fantastic project that I fully believe in and that sits at the heart of Crop’s sustainability programme.”
With the company growing rapidly, this also brings challenges. “As production volumes increase, so does the amount of water that needs to be treated. We need to continuously adapt and find solutions to maintain a high-performing system.” For Mathias, these challenges are a source of motivation. “They push me to reinvent myself and collaborate even more closely with colleagues.”
Having previously worked in metallurgy, chemicals, and utilities, Mathias has broad HSE experience across industries. Still, the food sector stands out. “Nothing compares to being part of the journey from field to fork and contributing to food safety for everyone.”
For him, Crop’s purpose is more than just words:
“Do Food Good is not just a slogan: it’s something I work on every single day.”
